Filmed short video for Solaniwa Onsen
This past February, I had a great opportunity filming Solaniwa Onsen（空庭温泉）'s architect Mr.Nasuno's interview video.
Before explaining about the project, let me introduce a little bit about 空庭温泉.
空庭温泉(Solaniwa Onsen) is a huge hot spring facility that features Japan's Azuchi Momoyama era's(1568-1600) atmosphere on its internal decorations. It is located in Osaka's bay area called Bentencho.(弁天町)
I filmed the facility's architect Mr.Nasuno's interview and how he came up with the ideas of mixing Azuchi Momoyama vibe and current Osaka's atmosphere. He found the clue while he strolled Osaka city, which is explained at the video. Also, he exemplified how architects should be when it comes to "a good architect".
I've been living in Osaka for about 7 years, so I'm feeling like I'm already native Osaka guy.(I'm from Kyoto by the way). Mr.Nasuno is based in Tokyo, he has a different perspective towards the city of Osaka, which locals like me never notice. I was amazed at how he could bring its vague concept to the real facility. I have to say there's a lot of fascinating features to the details in the interiors (some of them have playful mind), which I believe comes from Mr. Nasuno's point of view.
If you want to feel Japan's ancient atmosphere and have a rest at hot spring, this is a place to go. It brings you a lot of benefits both physically and mentally.
Lastly, dear Solaniwa Onsen's crew, thank you so much for the offer this time. I really enjoyed working on this project.
