「レンタルカー」「レンタル彼女」「レンタル家族」など数あるレンタルサービスが跋扈する日本。

そんな中自身をレンタルするも「飲み食いと簡単な受け答え以外はしません」と宣言する「レンタルなんもしない人」という人物が存在する。

​

このレンタルサービスは世の中にあるサービスで求められるものを裏切るものだが、彼に依頼はひっきりなしに来る。

依頼の窓口となるTwitterにはフォロワー数が40万人を超えている。

​

​一見ただの物珍しい人物かと思われがちだが、過去彼は働く中「なんもしない」ことへ価値がないとハンコを押されたことに反発し、同サービスを始めたという。

​

多くの仕事では「なんもしない＝生産性がない」と判断されるが、果たしてなんもしない事は意味がないことなのだろうか。

​

​彼の心の内、そして依頼者の姿から日本の現代社会の一片が垣間見れる。

In Japan, where various rental services like "rental cars," "rental girlfriends," and "rental families" abound, there exists a unique individual who offers himself for rent, declaring, "I won't do anything other than eat, drink, and provide simple responses." His service is called Do-nothing Rental Guy".

This rental service defies what is typically expected from services in society, yet he receives a constant stream of requests. His Twitter account, which serves as the contact point for requests, has over 400,000 followers.

​

At first glance, he might seem like just an oddity, but in the past, he started this service in response to being deemed worthless for "doing nothing" at his former job.

​

In many jobs, "doing nothing" is equated with being unproductive. But is doing nothing really meaningless in our society?

​

From his inner thoughts and the perspectives of his clients, we can catch a glimpse of a slice of contemporary Japanese society. Hearing a little voices from this unique service.
